Whether you’re looking to unwind after a long day or create an inviting social space in your backyard, hot tubs can be a fantastic addition to your lifestyle. When considering purchasing a hot tub, you’ll come across various options, including new, used, and ex-display hot tubs. In this blog post, we will explore the differences between these three categories to help you make an informed decision.
New Hot Tubs
New hot tubs are exactly what the name suggests: brand-new and never used before.
Typically purchased directly from the showroom, these tubs come straight from the manufacturer. As a result, new hot tubs often come with warranties that cover manufacturing defects or malfunctions. This gives you peace of mind, knowing that you have support in case any issues arise.
On top of this, purchasing a new hot tub allows you to customise your hot tub to your liking. From size and design to features and accessories, you can tailor your tub to your needs and preferences.
Lastly, new models often incorporate the latest advancements in hot tub technology, such as energy-efficient components, smart controls, improved insulation, and enhanced water filtration systems. These features can enhance your overall hot tub experience, as well as aid lowering running costs and improving the lifespan of your spa.
Used/Second Hand Hot Tubs
Used hot tubs refer to those that have had previous owners.
Buying a used hot tub can be an affordable option; however, it is important to remember that the condition of a used hot tub can vary significantly. Some may require minimal repairs or maintenance, while others may have significant wear and tear. At Spafix, we inspect all of our second hand tubs to ensure that all elements are in good working order. This includes the shell, plumbing, pumps, heaters, and all electrical components.
As for warranties and support, second-hand hot tubs do not often come with a warranty; however, we offer a minimum three months warranty, which can be extended. Additionally, finding parts or getting technical support for older models might be challenging, so it’s important to consider this aspect before making a purchase. If purchasing a second hand hot tub through us, we do also keep a record of the tub and offer advice and support when sourcing parts.
Ex-Display Hot Tubs
Ex-display hot tubs, also known as showroom models, are tubs that have been on display in a showroom. Typically, ex-display models are sold at a discounted price, but there is often limited quantities. Often times, the selection might be narrower compared to new or used hot tubs; however, if you find a suitable ex-display tub, it is an excellent way to save money on a quality product.
It is also worth considering that ex-display hot tubs have often been used for demonstrations or short-term testing, so their usage is limited compared to used hot tubs. Often times, there may be small physical imperfections; however, ex-display tubs are available for viewing, so you can physically inspect them before making a purchase.
How Can We Help?
Choosing between a new, used, or ex-display hot tub is a decision that depends on your budget, preferences, and priorities. New hot tubs offer the latest features, customization options, and warranties, while used tubs can provide cost savings with a wide range of branding and style options. Ex-display models offer a balance between affordability and quality, but availability may be limited. Ultimately, it’s essential to weigh the pros and cons of each option and make a choice that aligns with your needs, preferences, and budget.
